The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK Caroline Ziadeh notes with concern the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade decision to uphold an earlier suspension of Klan Kosova’s business certificate. “This is a particular blow to Kosovo’s independent media, prompting serious concerns over media freedoms. I urge authorities to work to find a pathway to ensure they can continue to broadcast, and to safeguard Kosovo’s media landscape & space for diverse voices. A free press is a fundamental pillar of democracy”, she said.
