In Iraq, around 3 million people are still living in camps. As a crucial enabling step before initiating a safe rebuilding process and bringing families together again, explosive ordnance must be found and cleared.
The situation in Iraq needs UNMAS experts to ensure the safety of civilians returning to their communities. UNMAS, active in Iraq since 2015, in coordination with the Government of Iraq and through its implementing partners is enabling stabilization efforts and humanitarian activities in country.
